April Edwards

April Edwards began as a self produced singer/songwriter and has had classical training in piano, violin, opera, guitar and music theory.  She began audio engineering in 2016 as an extern at Nitrosonic Studios in Lexington, KY while enrolled as an audio production student at the Recording Connection.  A year later, April was running operations as studio manager and lead engineer and helped manage Nitrosonic’s record label.

 

In 2018, April and two of her associates purchased the studio where she then primarily served as recording engineer and lead mix engineer.  In 2021, April left the company to pursue her career as a freelance audio engineer, instructor and consultant.

 

She has taught recording and mixing classes for students and has served as a consultant for many studios. Her lists of accomplishments include being a 2x Pro Panel member and 3x nominee for “best audio engineer” in the Lexington Music Awards and has served as a mentor with the Recording Connection for the past several years.
